Comput@medic offers a wide range of technical services for the PC and Macintosh user in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas of Bucks, Beds, Northants and Oxfordshire (approximately 35 mile radius). Click here for a leaflet for your noticeboard.
Offering a personal, on-site service we can provide the security of allowing you to see
what is done to your computer with the added benefit of a willingness to explain everything
to you in layman's terms if required. Whilst the service is primarily software-biased we
are able to undertake a wide variety of hardware-related tasks as well. Ranging from the
installation of new systems or components to the repair or upgrade of existing parts.
Based on an extensive 34-year experience in the computer industry we have a reputation for
reliability and determination. We offer our services as a full-time enterprise - not as a "moonlighting" extension to a "real" job. We are able to come to you at any reasonable time
of day or evening and will always use our best efforts to arrive at the time of appointment.
As often can be the case, if delays beset us we will advise you by telephone.
We will charge a fair price for any parts used and charge a flat rate of £30 for the first
half-hour on-site and £50 per hour thereafter. We do not have a call out charge, we
make no charge for travelling time and will NOT charge you if we fail to fix the problem.
All prices are not subject to VAT as the company is not VAT registered.
Fault diagnosis and repair With any Personal Computer, whether it be
an IBM-compatible PC, Apple Macintosh or any other variety, the complexity
of the software can often cause even the most confident of users
some degree of apoplexy from time to time.
When such an event occurs the temptation is to persevere with the problem yourself - often making it
worse - or call in a friend (who knows something about computers) - who
has the advantage of being able to walk away after he's made your PC unusable!
To prevent your prized possession turning into the most expensive door stop
you've ever owned, call in Comput@medic without delay! To ensure your
PC has the very best attention take advantage of our Health Assurance Scheme.
For further details see the Maintenance section.
Maintenance - For only £10 per month your PC (discounts apply for multiple computers in the same location) will receive a six monthly check-up and you can
call us immediately you have a problem without the fear of additional labour
charges.
With no risk of additional labour charges there is every reason to call us as soon as you notice a problem. This gives us the most realistic opportunity to resolve the problem quickly - with the minimum of inconvenience for you.
Paid by Standing Order on a monthly basis, you are in complete control. Additional computers can be added to the scheme at any time and there is no minimum term commitment beyond the current month paid. If you wish you can opt out at any time.

Network installation and upgrade With a wide range of experience in networking
systems including:
Microsoft Windows 3.11
Windows 95/98/ME
Windows NT/2000/XP/Vista and Windows 7
Windows NT4 Server /2000 Server/2003 Server/2008 Server
Novell's Netware 3.x and 4.x
We
can undertake almost any task from linking two (or more) PC's at home to adding
workstations to an existing network.
Electronic mail systems using Microsoft's
Exchange and Outlook products are something of a speciality and Internet installations
(through Plusnet, of course) are also becoming more and more popular.
System Upgrades and Expansion It is surprisingly common to find that a
reported fault is often little more than that new game or application purchased last
week needs more system resources than your present machine can muster.
New
programs are designed to make the best of current machines and where your PC
is a year or two old you will often find that a little extra memory or some additional
disk space can make the difference.
Sometimes more drastic measures are called
for in upgrading the processor (or motherboard) or you may just have a need for a
more capacious back-up device. Whatever needs to be done you can be
sure that Comput@medic can help.

New machines, A natural extension to system upgrades is to replace that aging PC
with a new one.
Whilst supplying new machines is not Comput@medic's
prime business we are able to utilise our buying facilities to source a wide range
of components and peripherals in order to supply exactly the system you want.
We do not offer standard systems, nor do we attempt to compete with the High
Street retailers but we can guarantee that unless otherwise stated we will
supply good quality new equipment with a minimum 12 month warranty
(motherboards and hard drives have a minimum of 2 years) at a competitive
price.
What we will NOT do is sell a system with a high paper specification
using cheap and unreliable components and then try to make a profit
by selling you an extended warranty.
